The Raiders would have granted Derek Carr permission to speak with other teams interested in trading for him, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The interested team must also agree to compensate the Raiders. It’s the same deal the Houston Texans offered the quarterback Deshaun Watson when they were looking to buy him the last offseason.

A new report suggests the Jets will be looking for a veteran quarterback who will play with the Raiders. Derek CarrPackers Aaron Rodgers among other things, according to Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports And NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

“While the Jets are certainly considering trading for Rodgers, he’s not the only veteran quarterback the team values,” Jones wrote Sunday for CBS Sports. Sources say Jets will be looking closely at Rodgers (San Francisco 49ers quarterback) Jimmy Garoppolo and Derek Carr. They won’t limit their search to these three quarterbacks — and sources point out it’s still early in the process — but that’s where the focus will begin.”

Derek Carr should be concluded by the Las Vegas Raiders “sooner rather than later”.

Speaking on ESPN NFL playoff countdown, adam schefter said Carr should be traded at some point this offseason.

“The entire NFC South should be looking for a new quarterback,” Schefter said. “The Jets, the Commanders, the Colts, the Texans. There are so many teams that need quarterbacks, which elevates Carr’s value.
